This Oceania map quiz can hide any of 14 countries. Australia and the larger island groups are easy to orient around, while small Pacific states may appear as markers whose location matters more than their visible area.
Distance is part of the puzzle
Oceania is spread across an enormous ocean, so neighboring order cannot always be read from touching borders. Think in subregions—Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia—and compare each gap with Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and the Pacific arcs.
How to approach a sparse map
- Check the large western countries before scanning the small markers.
- Learn island states in regional groups rather than alphabetical order.
- Zoom and reset the map whenever distant markers become hard to distinguish.
