What is Country Hunt?
Country Hunt is a geography game where you rotate a 3D globe and search for a hidden country. Country Hunt was inspired by Globle. Choose Type mode to enter country names or Pin mode to select countries directly on the globe. Every guess reveals the distance and direction from that country to the answer, helping you narrow down the possibilities one clue at a time.
How to play
- Choose a difficulty and either Type or Pin mode before starting.
- In Type mode, enter a country name and choose your guess from the suggestions. In Pin mode, rotate the globe and tap the country you want to guess.
- Guessed countries are colored on the globe, with deeper red showing a closer guess.
- Use the distance, eight-direction arrow, and neighboring-country clue to plan your next guess.
- Find the mystery country within the number of guesses allowed by your selected difficulty.
Understanding distance and color
Distance is measured between the closest points on each country's borders or coastlines, not between country centers. This keeps nearby countries feeling close even when one of them is very large. Far guesses appear almost white and become deep red as you approach the answer. The correct country appears in emerald green.
Choosing an answer mode
- Type is the default mode and is ideal for recalling country names while using the globe as a visual guide.
- Pin lets you answer by tapping a country directly on the 3D globe. Rotate and zoom the globe to make an accurate selection.
- Small countries and islands have circular markers in Pin mode, making them easier to select.
Choosing a difficulty
- Easy has unlimited guesses, making it ideal for relaxed practice.
- Medium allows 10 guesses, Hard allows 7, and Expert allows 5.
- Medium is the recommended starting point for a first game.
Tips for finding the answer
Begin with countries in different parts of the world to identify the correct continent. Once the direction becomes clearer, use large nearby countries as landmarks. A deep red country or a neighbor clue means it is time to focus on countries that share the same border region.
